September 5, Labor Day (United States)
The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council says that between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Americans will eat 7 billion hot dogs.
Considered a federal holiday in the U.S., Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday in September. This holiday recognizes the American labor movement started in the 19th Century and honors the hard work of laborers across the nation.
September 7, Independence Day (Brazil)

Commonly referred to as Sete de Setembro, Independence Day in Brazil is celebrated on the seventh of September. This holiday celebrates Brazil’s declaration of independence from the United Kingdom of Portugal in 1822.
September 9, Mid Autumn Festival (Vietnam)
“The Mid-Autumn Festival is based on the legend of Chang’e, the Moon goddess in Chinese mythology.” From one of our Contributors, Viet
Known as Tết Trung Thu, the Mid Autumn Festival is a children’s festival held in Vietnam. People gather for a feast and watch the moon. Children are given toys such as star lamps or masks. Lanterns of all size and shapes are carried and displayed to symbolize beacons that light people’s path to prosperity and good fortune.
September 24, Heritage Day (South Africa)
