Please tell us about yourself.
My name is Francis, I am 38 years old and I live in Oregon in the United States. I have three children that are ages four, five, and eight. I work in the construction industry full time and love the outdoors. I love to ride motorcycles and I love spending time with my family whenever I’m not working and investing in their futures. I try to find ways to earn extra income on my time off from my full-time job and Appen has been a part of that venture.
I also like to invest in cryptocurrency, and stocks. I feel that finances and ways to grow your finances are very important, especially for teaching my kids how to stay on top of the game. Life is always full of opportunities and I am fortunate to be a part of the Appen community.
Why did you choose to be a Contributor for Appen?
I choose to be a part of the Appen team because their projects are tailored for what I like to do. I like to test artificial intelligence, as well as as navigational apps because I use them on a regular basis in my life. Plus, they are fairly easy to navigate and complete and work on in your spare time period.
When do you do your work for Appen?

I work in the evenings, and days off from my regular day job.
What is your favorite part about being a Contributor?
The best part about being a Contributor is that you get to work on these projects whenever you’d like. There was one night where I was having a rough night and I need to get my mind off of some stressful things going on, and I started working on one of the projects for about 45 minutes, then went to bed and was able to sleep peacefully. That’s just one example of the benefits of working on the projects.
What has working for Appen enabled you to do that you could not before?
Appen has allowed me to earn a little extra income and help with my finances. I love the availability of the projects. Whereas other part time jobs or tasks would have me going to an office or leaving the house, I can do these at my home spending time with my kids and enjoying my family while earning extra income.
