4/15 Sexta Feira Santa / Good Friday (various locations)
Also known as Holy Friday, Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the death of Jesus and his crucifixion. This holiday falls on the Friday before Easter Sunday. Observances of this holiday include worship and prayer services, fasting, and vigil services.
4/10-16 Semana Santa / Holy Week (various locations)
During Holy Week, the days leading up to Easter Sunday, there are many Christian holidays that are celebrated around the world. Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Maundy Thursday all occur during Holy Week. Observances of these holidays include vigil services, fasting, processions, and prayer.
4/17-Páscoa / Easter (various locations)
Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Christ. The days leading up to the Easter holiday are known as Holy Week. Easter marks the end of the Lenten season and focuses on revival and rebirth. Celebrations of this holiday include egg decorating and Easter egg hunts, prayer services, and family meals.
4/19-Dia do Índio (Brazil)

This holiday recognizes and celebrates the indigenous population of Brazil. In 1943, President Getulio Vargas created the holiday to commemorate the day on which indigenous leaders attended the first Inter-American Indian Congress. The National Indian Festival, held annually in Bertioga, São Paulo, is considered one of the largest indigenous cultural events in the world.

The 21st of April is a national holiday that marks the anniversary of the death of Joaquim Jose de Silva Xavier. He was a leading figure in the revolutionary movement known as Inconfidência Mineira. He is considered a national hero of Brazil. The holiday gets its name from his nickname, tiradentes, which means “tooth-puller” referring to his trade as a dentist.
